Sinsay goes from strength to strength in Romania
New Sinsay brand stores will be built in retail parks located in Timisoara and Vaslui. These are the chain’s next locations in Romanian retail facilities being developed by the Polish company Scallier.
Brand expansion in Romania
So far, Sinsay stores have opened in retail parks:
-
in Focsani
-
and Rosiorii de Vede
Both facilities were completed in 2021. All of Scallier’s developments in Romania are BREEAM-certified, confirming their green standards.
Romania’s retail market continues to grow
According to Dana Radoveneanu, Head of Retail Space at Cushman & Wakefield Echinox, growing consumption in Romania is driving the development of stationary retail and e-commerce:
“Growing consumption in Romania is encouraging retail chains to open new stores and develop more sales channels, including e-commerce.”
The results of a survey conducted by Cushman & Wakefield Echinox show:
-
27.5 billion euros – the value of retailers’ turnover in 2021.
-
This compares to: 22.9 billion euros in 2019 and 24.8 billion euros in 2020.
This growth is the result of both expansion of retail chains and organic growth, supported by the rebound in consumption after the pandemic.
New contracts, new opportunities
“We can confirm strong interest in space in retail parks in Romania. New agreements with a tenant that is growing on the Romanian market – the Sinsay chain – are a confirmation of the attractiveness of this region of Europe, which still lacks modern retail in many local markets.”
– Wojciech Jurga, Managing Partner at Scallier
The next investment: Mosnita
Scallier is also developing a retail park in Mosnita, with a leasable area of 8,500 sqm.
-
Earthworks started last month
-
Already about 60% of the space has been leased
“This will be another retail destination on the Romanian market, which will be formed by our commercial facility together with a store of the Lidlchain,” he says. – Wojciech Jurga adds.
